Reynolds Dog Resort ~ West Linn is Hiring a General Manager Near West Linn, OR

The General Manager oversees and manages the complete operation of a village. This includes daily operations, managing the staff, overseeing customer service, acting as a salesman. This position also requires pet care knowledge, fiscal responsibility, computer skills, and public relation skills.

Job Duties

· Ensures exceptional customer service, through personal contact with customers, associate training, resolution of customer complaints, and delivery of services

· Collaborates with Village Pet Care corporate staff on regular basis (i.e. Marketing, Operations, Payroll, etc.)

· Manages all staff at village: recruits, hires, motivates, trains, promotes, counsels, and terminates when necessary

· Manages payroll for the village and ensures that payroll is delivered on-time to Finance

· Onboards new employees in compliance with HR systems and standards in place

· Responsible for generating complete revenue/end-of-day reports daily

· Ensures Village compliance with all federal and local labor laws: OSHA, EEOC, ADA, Fair Labor Practices

· Ensures safety of all employees by conducting safety training, enforcing of safe handling rules, and complying with all safety-related policies

· Oversees the scheduling of staff for work assignments, allowing ample staff to provide outstanding service while maintaining the budget

· Prepares and delivers annual performance appraisals for Village associates on a timely basis

· Responsible for cash management, including accepting cash, check, and credit card payments for resort services and for end-of-day cash drawer balance

· Monitors and responds to the needs of pet guests to ensure their safety, security, and comfort

· Administers all medications to pet guests as required

· Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies; reorders and restocks as necessary

· Shop for miscellaneous supplies as needed

· Manages the computer reservation system

· Addresses all physical plant needs to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for pet guests and associates

· Utilizes financial reports and statistics

· Prepares and distributes required statistical and financial data

· Ensures that bank deposits are made daily

· Promotes and markets Village Pet Care’s internally and to the outside community at large

· Establishes and maintains network connections with the community in which the Village is located

· Ensures that client communication occurs

· Treats customers, guests, visitors, and associates in a professional, courteous manner

· Assists other associates as needed

· Ensures that Pet Guest Report, Pet Grooming Report, and Report Cards are given to all customers

· Supports the mission and vision of Village Pet Care, LLC by complying and enforcing polies and procedures

· Completes all training programs and participates in essential meetings

· Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

· Minimum of two years management experience, preferably in hospitality, service, and/or retail environments with full P&L management responsibility

· Must have experience in managing inventory and accounts payable

· Must have exceptional customer service experience and skills

· Must be proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and database applications

· Must have strong background in driving performance excellence through strong people management

· Must have experience in problem-solving, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, and the general public

· BA/BS is a plus

· Previous experience with animals is preferred

· Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills

· Ability to complete assignments and responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner, often with strict and/or conflicting deadlines

· Must have excellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills

· Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills

· Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

· Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds

· Must be able to be on feet for eight hours per day

· Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently

· Must be able to utilize multi-line telephone

· Must be able to handle dogs on leashes

· Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions

· Must have a love of animals
